journals are funny things. every once in a while, they exist only to be dusted off, scoffed at, ridiculed, jostled, and forgotten again.
life gets good, life gets bad, life stays okay, it's not so much a cycle as it is a rotation of perspective. problems always exist, it's merely whether or not they show in the light. they may all just be manifestations of our own fears, shortcomings, blahs. it's like riding a bike - you never forget, you can never forget, yet you relearn each time. This passage makes no sense because if it did, the world would cease to exist.
i now know what it means to be a big fish in a small pond. and i know what happiness looks like. right now, i'm more than fine. i'm me. |

One thousand pieces of green vinyl with my name on all of them. The first release on the label my brother and i are starting, endangered species records. yes, we are taking it seriously, too. so buy a copy of the green mountain valley boys single when it comes out sept 12 - your choice: at a show, at a list of select retailers, from a band member, mail order, or any number of other weird places. seriously, it's awesome to own - it's real live vinyl. and, each copy comes with a digital download certificate for the songs.
and yeah, it's really weird to have all these sitting in my living room.
we begin construction on savannah sound on sept 16
wheels are turning! things are working! i want an EP out by christmas! album by spring! |

where do I begin?
Prom with Julie was fantastic. 'Nuff said. Pictures pictures pictures soon.
Show yesterday was real good, too! Thanks to all that came out. Bailey, do you have pics?
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy last night in A.C. was a lot better than I expected. I wanted to get out there and dance. (note to self: learn how to dance)
And that about sums up the weekend so far. Busybusybusy, as I shall be for the next few weeks, too.
Oh, the strange serendipity of life. |

Well, this has been a weekend and a half. I haven't updated in forever either. But, suffice to say, life is going well. Driving is great, but expensive, despite my fuel-efficient and kind-to-environment hybrid. Friends are fantastic.
It's great to have the windows open and Dylan on the record player. Nashville Skyline from the flea market is priceless.
School is school. Play practice is consuming a bit of time, but will be worth it. Bye Bye Birdie, May 20th and 21st.
I wish I really updated this thing. |

2005. what a year.
a year ago, 3:30AM tomorrow morning, i set out on a mission to find myself. what i found on that trip was a wealth of adventures, friendships, misunderstandings, and most of all, changes.
all of you are incredible people, all of you. the memories are too plentiful to list, i wish i could make a list for all of you. but i'm sure you share most of them, too. feel free to post them in the comments!
i'm gonna make a photo collage one of these days. i would right now, but i'm not home- i'm at my brother's place, which i never expected either. helping him move home has brought us closer than ever.
thank you, all of you, for existing and making my year incredible, and i hope to see you again in 2006.
happy new year. resolution coming soon.

| | mates of state - fraud in the 80s | ] | christmas was good. cash, clothes, and strange crap = the three wize gifts. a modest christmas, though, just as i had hoped for. i still hold my best presents to be a certain music box and a picture my brother gave me that declares me "the greatest brother a guy could ever have".
i feel a little weird, but that's what a day like this gets. too much company sent me next door to kill brain cells watching kenn play evil dead regeneration.
okay, i have few plans this week- make some. |
